Willing To...

“How can I promote more honest and vulnerable conversations among young adults that tend to have more surface level interactions on a day-to-day basis?”

I’ve always been intrigued by our ability to make small changes on a daily basis. I live with the intention of treating every interaction as if it is the most important one of the day, and as if it can make someone’s life better. I wanted to show people that I’m available for that connection and that I am willing.

This was my senior project for my undergrad. I created the logo of the hand reaching out and volunteering, showing a willingness to connect and be present. The hand is coming out of a jumbled up mess, representing whatever hurt or pain someone may carry with them. The logo was printed boldly on the front of t-shirts and stickers that were given out to students who were willing to be open and honest with others. Posters with similar imagery and messages like “I am willing to enter into hurt” and “I am willing to sit in silence” were also created and displayed.
